Lisa Brooks Abenaki Enjoyes Hiking

As a lifelong learner and lover of the land, Lisa Brooks (Abenaki) has accomplished a lot already in her life. She is a Guggenheim Fellow, and her book, Our Beloved Kin: A New History of King Philip’s War, won the Bancroft Prize for American History and Diplomacy.  Lisa Brooks, Amherst College, is currently tracking eastern coyotes and researching the history of their arrival in New England. She enjoys gardening, reading, hiking, and traveling domestically with her family.
